Internationally, CISA is highly recognized as a profession for those who audit, control, monitor and assess information technology and business system of an organization. CISA certification programme is offered by Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), USA.
To earn CISA certification, you need to pass CISA examination conducted by ISACA in June, September (in selected locations) and December months. After passing out, you need to get 5 years of work experience in system auditing, control and security. Check waivers list to know more on requirements of work experience.
In India, all major cities like Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Pune, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai, Vijayawada and Kolhapur has a CISA examination center from where you can appear the CISA exam.
There are no prerequisite experience requirements to write CISA exam. You can register yourself for June or September or December exam and get your study materials for preparation.
To appear for June month exam, you need to get yourself registered in February. Similarly for September exam, registration will be on mid-April and for December its mid-June.
All local chapters are offering review courses to get acquainted with the CISA course. Most of these chapters are taking classes on Sundays so that working executives can join in. We request you to contact your local chapter’s office for further information.
CISA exam is one-time. That means you need to apply again if you lose the exam. Exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions which need to be answered in four hours. To get qualified you must receive a score of 450 or higher out of total 800 marks.
Banking, Private IT sectors and other MNC companies having a role of auditing and assessing information technology and business system would prefer CISA in addition to your other qualifications.
