ITRV – Address and Time limit of sending your ITRV to Income tax Office

After filling your income tax return online you will be able to download ITRV of your IT Return. In case you have not downloaded or taken a print of your ITRV then you can select the option of “my account” and then under my account select “My returns/form”. Click on the selected assessment year and download acknowledgement copy of your tax return.

It will ask you for a password. The password is in combination of your pan number and date of birth. If your pan number is AAAPP1111C and date of birth is 01/01/2001 then password should be aaapp1111c01012001.

ITRV is a one page document which is to be signed in blue ink and need to be sent to IT department’s Bangalore office for further processing. This needs to be done within 120 days from the date of uploading your Tax return.

ITRV has to be sent by ordinary post only. Speed post is also allowed but postal department will not allow speed post as there is no concerned person mentioned in it and they need to drop it in the post bag no 1 as mentioned in the address.

If you are sending more than one ITRV related to different assessment years then you need not send it separately. You can put it in one envolve and send it to IT department’s Bangalore office address. Its advisable to put the ITRV in a A4 size envolve instead of folding and putting it in small envolves.

Courier and registered posts are not allowed.

While sending ITRV you need not attach or send any other documents like form 16 or proof of IT deduction along with it.

There are chances that your ITRV sent earlier will be misplaced in between. In this case either IT department will intimate you by email or through SMS. You can also check your ITRV status online. If the status is ITRV received then IT department has received it or else they have not received.

In case of non receipt of ITRV, you need to resend it to IT department’s Bangalore office address as mentioned above.

Sending of ITRV to above address is not mandatory in case you have used your digital signature while uploading your tax return. Signing with digital signature will be treated as if you have signed the ITRV in physical format.
