Permanent Account Number or PAN card is issued by the Indian tax department. Its mandatory for all private limited companies to obtain PAN after registration with the state ROC.
After incorporation of your private limited company, you are required to have a income tax permanent account number in the name of the company as without this you will not be allowed to open company’s Bank account and cannot do Income tax registration and other things.
For private limited company’s permanent account number, certificate of incorporation will be considered as proof of identity and address proof.

At present you can process PAN card for a private limited company simultaneously during the process of incorporation along with e-form INC-29. Or else you have to wait till the registration certificate is issued to you by the ROC.

PAN card for a private limited company can be applied online at NSDL website.
After applying for permanent account number, you can attach the certificate of incorporation and sign the application form before processing it to the NSDL office.
For online application, fee of Rs 107 has to be paid by using net banking or credit card or debit card. Demand draft and cheque facility is also available.
Instead of applying online, if you want to handover the physical copy of the application form (Form49A) then you can do so by visiting any TIN FC nearest to your area. It’s not necessary that you should visit TIN FC next to your business place. You can process it anywhere in the city.
Now the question is who should sign the PAN application form? It depends on the authorization that the private limited company has given.
In general, company use to authorize one of its director to process the Permanent account number application form on behalf of the private limited company by passing a resolution.
The authorized person has to sign the application form with authored seal.PAN application form will be attached with the certificate of incorporation. You are not required to attach any other documents along with the application form. This means, its not required to send memorandum of association and article of association along with the PAN application form.
After processing, it will take 15-20 days to get your company’s Permanent Account Number. You can check your PAN application status online.
In company’s PAN card you will have your company name ending with the words private limited, and the date of incorporation printed. After receiving Pan Card, please make sure that these things are been printed correctly or else banks and other institutions will not accept it.
A foreign company which intends to do business in India must obtain a Permanent Account Number to avoid excessive deduction on the remittances.
