DSC is an electronic signature used to authenticate any digital message or documents. A properly implemented digital signature gives the receiver reasons to believe that the message that has been sent by the owner of the signature. The original owner can not deny for the authentication of the signature. Digital signature or DSC uses encryption technique and a public/private key to verify the authenticity of a person or transaction.
For Company registration, Income tax efilling and to apply for a tender, digital signature is a must and it need to be collected from an authentic vendor.
There are different classes of digital signatures used based on the requirement and importance of the document. Followings are the type of DSC available in market and there uses;
Class 1 Digital Signature Certificate or DSC : These certificates do not have legal validity as the process of validation is based on e mail ID. This type of certificate does not have any direct verification.
Class 2 Digital Signature Certificate or DSC : This certificate is required for income tax filling and company incorporation as the identity of person is verified against a pre-verified data base. To get this type of certificate, the person has to apply through an application form with his identity proof, passport size photo and address proof to a certified authority.
Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate or DSC : This certificate provides the highest level of assurance and used for e-tendering or e-procurement or e-bidding.

The controller of certifying authority issued certificate to certifying authority and in turns these certifying authority issues digital signature certificate (DSC) to end user. To get a digital signature certificate (DSC) you need to contact any of the certifying authority to get it issued for you.
